I’m Debbie Dry and I am the founder of Debbie Dry Care Improvement Consultancy. I am an award-winning, Registered Care Home Manager and Registered Nurse for over 20 years. I have achieved Outstanding Inspection reports for my service and now I want to support other providers to achieve the same. 


I am passionate about people receiving great care and I understand the complexity of managing a care service and demonstrating compliance for CQC inspections.

Mock Inspections

I offer mock CQC inspections to help organisations prepare with confidence. Each review covers the five key CQC judgements—Safe, Effective, Responsive, Caring, and Well-led. This involes  environmental checks, safety and infection control monitoring, documentation reviews, and discussions with staff, service users, and visitors.

By highlighting strengths and identifying areas for improvement, I provide a comprehensive report that supports continuous development. This process not only prepares teams for the official inspection but also reduces stress, enhances staff confidence and demonstrates your organisation’s commitment to delivering high-quality care.

As part of my ongoing commitment to sustained improvement, I offer a follow-up review 3–6 months after your inspection. This visit allows me to assess progress against your action plan, identify any emerging risks, and ensure that the improvements made are fully embedded in day-to-day practice. Together, we’ll review what’s working well, address any remaining challenges, and keep your service on track for continued success.

Mini Review

I provide focused reviews of specific areas of practice, including medication management, complaints procedures, learning from events or staff training needs. 

Each review includes a detailed report which can serve as evidence of ongoing improvement for your next CQC inspection, along with a 3-6 month progress check. This targeted approach helps managers and staff understand CQC expectations, embed learning and strengthen professional development.
 

Training 

I deliver tailored training programmes designed to strengthen the skills and confidence of care staff. Sessions cover key areas such as compliance with CQC standards, effective care management and leadership development. Training is interactive and aligned with current regulations to ensure teams are equipped to provide safe, high-quality care.
